Volunteer

From tending crops, to teaching kids, to helping out in the office, volunteers are essential members of our team.

Individual Volunteering

Are you interested in contributing to your local food system? Join us for a day of community and healing with the land! During Open Farm Day season, April through October, on the 4th Saturday of the month we host a monthly Volunteer Service Day. Returning volunteers can check in and dive right into the projects for the day, while new volunteers can expect a brief orientation and farm tour before getting into service work. In collaboration with Open Farm Days, volunteers will be provided a delicious lunch prepared by our Community Chefs.

Be sure to fill out our interest form prior to registration. You can register for the 4th Saturday monthly Volunteer Service Day here. Select the ‘monthly volunteer service day’ ticket at check out to ensure cost free registration. If you are interested in getting involved off-season (November to March), you can fill out a volunteer interest form and we will contact you with opportunities.

Please Note: volunteers who are under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Current Volunteers Sign Up Here

We welcome current volunteers to sign up for ongoing volunteer opportunties. If you would like to support in the kitchen you first need special kitchen training. Please do not sign up for kitchen shifts until you have been trained. We can’t wait to see you at the farm!

Group Volunteering

Are you interested in bringing your group to the farm for a day of service and teambuilding? We offer group volunteer packages! Bring your team out to Zenger Farm to learn and connecting while contributing to our mission. Volunteering at Zenger Farm is an engaging, hands-on way to connect your brand and employees to our work while demonstrating your organization’s commitment to food justice. We can help make community engagement rewarding and visible for your group!

Board Service

Are you interested in helping steer the vision and development of Zenger Farm? Apply to join our Board of Directors! It is essential to carry out our mission and develop a group of strong community leaders willing to volunteer their time, ideas, and network.

We encourage Black, Indigenous, people of color, women, LGBTQ+ people, religious minorities, recent migrants/refugees, people with disabilities, and applicants from different generational and economic backgrounds to apply.

We strive to eliminate any barriers! Please let us know if any childcare, transportation, language/translation/communication needs, accessibility modifications, or other accommodations would help you to fully participate.
