We are a working urban farm that models, promotes and educates about sustainable food systems, environmental stewardship, community development and access to good food for all.
The wetlands at Zenger Farm are part of the Johnson Creek Watershed. The Johnson Creek Watershed is a 52 square mile area that flows 26 miles from its headwaters near the Sandy River to its confluence with the Willamette River, passing through four cities (Gresham, Portland, Milwaukie, and Happy Valley) and two counties (Clackamas and Multnomah) along the way.
Education about the importance of this natural resource at Zenger is crucial to community awareness. Wetland health impacts fish spawning, populations of microinvertebrates, amphibians, birds, other wildlife and the surrounding environment.
