It’s time to get creative! What can you craft from the wild? In this camp, we will use all different types of plants, both wild and tame, to make beautiful, natural art from our own imaginations. We will also craft healing potions and delicious dishes with herbs, vegetables and wild plants found on the farm. Come join us to appreciate the power of plants!

Each day we’ll explore the farm, care for the plants and farm critters, like worms and chickens, and make farm-fresh snacks from the fruits and veggies we have grown. Grab your boots to head to the wetland to make sure the dragonflies and tadpoles are having adventures as well. Come ready to play outside on the farm!
*We have a partnership with Oregon Museum for Science and Industry (OMSI). Please go to www.omsi.edu/camps-and-classes to register for Farm Friends for July 9th-13th and July 23rd-29th. Morning drop-off and pick-up will be at OMSI for those two weeks.

It’s a farm chef extravaganza! Each day this week*, we’ll be cooking up delicious farm-fresh treats in both the Farmhouse and Urban Grange kitchens. Campers will learn culinary techniques and get to test out new recipes. Come with an appetite!
*Choose any or all of four days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (Farm closed on Wednesday July 4th). Aftercare still available for all days.

Squish! Splat! Splash! It’s time to get in the mud! In this camp, we’ll be playing with mud every day all over the farm and wetland! Put your thinking cap on to see if you can find out how dirt is made and find all the creatures that live in it! Come ready to get muddy with a buddy, do lots of digging and exploring and maybe even make some yummy mud pies! We’ll also make lots of time for games, cooking and visiting our flock of chickens. Come get muddy with us!
- July 30th-Aug 3rd
Who’s hiding in all those tall wetland grasses? What kind of plants and animals live here? Campers will spend each day exploring our wetland habitat, making cattail rope and looking for wild creatures. We’ll take time to catch and release critters in the ponds, identify bird calls, and look for tracks on the wetland banks. All of these discoveries will make us hungry, so we’ll also harvest and make farm-fresh snacks to enjoy while daydreaming with the dragonflies.
- August 6th-10th
Can you find all the birds that live at Zenger Farm? Our farm and wetland are home to many different bird species! Let’s investigate! In this camp, we will be learning how to use binoculars and bird guides to find and identify wild bird species. We will also be making some special gifts for our feathered friends, and bird masks for ourselves. Of course, we’ll visit our tame flock of birds too (chickens!) and make time for lots of fresh farm snacks and playtime in the sunshine.
- August 13th-17th
Did you know most of the things we think of as vegetables are actually fruits? Zenger Farm grows over 100 varieties of fruits and vegetables, and this camp is a true fruit lover’s delight! Campers will receive official Fruit Feast access to the bounty of the farm. To get their certification, campers will learn all there is to know about fruit, including how botanists define what a fruit is, when to pick it for maximum fruitiness, and how to make it into delicious dishes! Come ready to dive into the juicy world of sun-ripened fruit!
