Calling all aspiring gardeners! In this camp, we’ll be in the garden every day, planting, weeding and growing delicious food to share. We’ll work and learn with the farmers and then put those skills to use in the Children’s Garden, where you’ll be in charge. Garden Guardians have special projects, privileges and responsibilities in the garden and will know all the secrets to help plants thrive. Along the way, you’ll gain skills to grow food at home or at school! Be ready to cook and prepare what we harvest to share in tasty meals together.

It’s a farm chef extravaganza! Each day this week*, we’ll be cooking up delicious farm-fresh treats in both the Farmhouse and Urban Grange kitchens. Campers will learn culinary techniques and get to test out new own recipes. Come with an appetite!

*Choose any or all of four days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (Farm closed on Wednesday July 4th). Aftercare still available for all days.

Chef Stories

  • July 9th-13th

How do stories influence our cooking? How do recipes become traditions and rituals? This camp is your chance to answer these questions and more as we create our own myths and legends of Zenger Farm. We’ll practice the art of storytelling as we learn about the real history of this land, invent new tales, and use stories as inspiration in the kitchen! Come prepared to get creative, write and perform stories and get in the kitchen to bring our stories and recipes to life!

Outdoor Chefs

  • August 13th-17th

Cooking on an open fire is way more than just s’mores! Let’s bring the kitchen outside for this chef experience! We’ll be using an open fire as well as an outdoor oven to explore the possibilities of cooking outside. Come prepared to use farm ingredients mixed with a lot of creativity as we make delicious magic happen over open flames. We will learn about fire safety, perfect some outdoor recipes and experiment with herbs to make delicious creations. And, of course, we’ll always find time to play games, explore the wetland and say hi to the chickens!
