COMMUNITY CHEF COOKING WORKSHOP W/ Van
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH, 6PM-8:30PM
We will be celebrating the transition from Fall into the colder season with a delicious Vietnamese menu created by Community Chef Van Duong. She will lead us through the cooking and preparing of the meal, and in doing so we can celebrate the stories and flavours of Vietnam! We will be making a hearty beefless Vietnamese “beef stew”, vegan tofu spring rolls, and peanut sauce. Vegan/vegetarian friendly.

FREE opportunity for Farm School students and teachers, and their families and friends! Come check out the Farm that your student visits 3 times with their class for science field trips. Cook a farm treat! Pet and feed our chickens! Meet one of our Community Chefs! Plant in the garden! Explore in the wetland! Learn about low-cost Camps and Cooking workshops. We’ll make sure to have plenty of inside activities if it’s a cold day! Stop by anytime between 11am and 2pm.
Farm School students are ALL 5th graders in the David Douglas School District, and from Park Academy, Highland, West Gresham, Lewis, Oak Grove, Woodmere, and Whitman Elementary, kindergarteners from Margaret Scott, 1st/2nd graders from Springwater Environmental Sciences School, high schoolers from Mt. Scott Learning Center, and participants in Chix San NAYA’s play group.
COMMUNITY Potluck Dinner: WInter Celebrations
TUESDAY, December 5th, 6PM-8:30PM
What better way to come together, celebrate the tranquility of Winter, and rejoice in the warmth of community than to have a potluck dinner with all of our favorite Winter foods? This is an opportunity to share your best-ever recipes with the community, so please feel welcomed to bring some food or beverages! We will also be providing some food prepared by several community chefs in addition to the potluck feast (menu to be updated.)

Campers will celebrate the changing of the seasons, craft natural gifts for friends and family, and cook farm-fresh winter delights! Join us!

Beekeeping Work Parties with Portland Urban Beekeepers
1st and 3rd Sundays, 10AM-12PM
Beekeepers from PUB will be onsite working on the hives in the Zenger Farm apiary. This is a great opportunity to learn about beekeeping from some of the local experts. Appropriate for all levels of experience. Equipment is available for use, but please wear close toed shoes, weather appropriate clothes, and bring your own water bottle and sunscreen.
There is no charge for these events, though donations to PUB help sustain the program at Zenger Farm.
