Our CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a subscription for a box of fresh, seasonal, delicious vegetables that you pick up from the farm.

Zenger Farm is a working urban farm, growing 100+ varieties of vegetables. We also have a variety of mixed herbs and started including fresh cut flowers! Learn more about why you should choose CSA!

Our Portland CSA is perfect for those near the Lents, Powellhurst-Gilbert and Pleasant Valley neighborhoods. Our organic vegetables are grown locally and sustainably, and we even offer a sliding-scale payment model — one of the first in the nation!

2023 CSA is closed. Check back in March 2024 to sign up.

Includes 6-12 organic vegetables with limited amounts of herbs, fruits, and edible flowers. Learn more about what’s in a CSA and see example CSA shares!

At Zenger Farm, we believe everyone has a right tosnap good food.

We accept Cash, Check, Credit/Debit Cards, and SNAP/EBT (formerly known as food stamps).

We offer monthly CSA payment plans for full, ¾, or ½ shares. With a payment plan, your total cost is divided into 6 equal payments. Your first payment is due at sign-up and the remaining five payments are due on the first of the month June-October.

We offer Sliding Scale Pricing and CSA Discounts so that everyone may join our CSA community.

We participate in Double Up Food Bucks. Members who pay with SNAP are eligible for up to $200 off the cost of their CSA. Double Up Food Bucks reduce the cost of your CSA in addition to any sliding scale discount you select. Double Up Food Bucks is a SNAP match program from the Pacific Northwest CSA Coalition. For every dollar that you pay for your CSA with SNAP/EBT (formerly food stamps), the CSA Coalition provides a matching dollar to Zenger Farm, making CSA more affordable for you while helping to support programming at Zenger Farm. The CSA Coalition will match every SNAP dollar paid by a member up to $200 for Full or ¾ shares and $100 for ½ shares (there is no funding for ¼ Shares).

For example, a ¾ share (18 weeks)  is priced at $600 for a family of four earning a minimum living wage. But if your family earns less, you can use our sliding scale pricing to get a discount. Let’s say your family qualifies for a 40% discount on our sliding scale, then your price would be $360. But with Double Up food Bucks, your family would only pay $180 because the CSA Coalition provides a matching payment to Zenger Farm for the remaining $180. With a 6 month payment plan, your family would only pay $30/month. When we say, “we believe everyone has a right to good food,” this is what we mean.

We encourage you to sign up early, to reserve your Double Up Food Bucks. The amount of funding for this program is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

You can always request a larger CSA discount or contribution. If our sliding scale is not broad enough and you would like a larger CSA discount or contribution, please email your request to surabhi@zengerfarm.org

Full Share is a 25-week CSA ($800), picked up every Thursday May 11th – October 19th.
