Open Farm Day: Candle Making and Pumpkin Smash
Saturday, November 5th, 11:30am – 3pm
Join us for a day learning and exploring at an urban farm! Open Farm Day is designed to be welcoming, fun, and educational to people of all ages. This event is loosely structured and mostly self-guided. Educators are on site to facilitate activities and stewardship projects.
With nights growing longer, what better way to spend the evening than by the glow of a handmade candle! We will be demoing several different methods of candle making and the opportunity for you to make your own to take home. We also are in partnership with Portland Free Play for a pop-up event, Pumpkin Smashing! These pumpkins are destined for compost. But before they go, children will have a chance to engage in some smashy, squishy fun!
Registration is sliding scale. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
