Summer Camp 2018 is coming to a close. We had such a blast with each and every camper and we can’t believe it’s already over! We had new themes this year, including Wild Craft, Delicious Dirt and Bird Brains, and some awesome new staff that helped every camper have a memorable, fun experience at camp. We met lots of new kids, and got to see many familiar faces too. It means a lot that folks join us year after year! We love watching campers grow up and we are grateful for the continued support of our farm and mission. Thanks to all of you who made it all happen!
There’s a lot that goes into making a summer of camp happen at the farm.  I thought it would be fun to share with you some numbers that quantify what happened during this fabulous camp season. Check it out:
  • 55 glorious days of Summer Camp at Zenger Farm
  • 37 camps, almost all sunny and warm (thank goodness for our sprinkler!)
  • 565 campers, making friends, cooking food, playing outside, running through sprinklers, catching bugs, trying new foods, petting chickens and counting
  • worms.

  • 21 youth leaders, being role models and helpers and playing with so many campers
  • 20 camp staff and interns running activities, planning recipes, getting to know campers, putting on bandaids, singing songs, playing games, leading crafts and cleaning up afterwards!
  • 95+ visits to feed and pet our flock of chickens
  • 150+ recipes cooked and eaten in our kitchens, using freshly harvested ingredients
  • 500+ grasshoppers caught and admired and released back to nature
  • 27,500(ish) swings on the rope swing in the Nature Playground
  • Endless smiles, songs, games, giggles and fun!
Thanks for everything, campers and families!

Fondly,

Andy McGee (Camp Manager)
