Kristin Browne
Kristin Browne serves on the executive team at Bridgetown Natural Foods, a B Corp that produces natural food snacks and exists to “make the food we want our families to eat”. She stewards org health initiatives, IT, events, and cross-functional work like strategic planning and B Corp recertification. Prior to this she advised students in the Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine program at UWS (and eventually married a nutrition professor). Kristin joined the board because she believes Zenger does the highest priority work: providing access and education on the interdependent relationship between healthy land, food, community and personal health. In her free time she explores food in the context of a bi-racial heritage, including crafting plant-based versions of treasured Colombian recipes. Kristin has a B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as certificates in Human Resources and Project Management.
Alli Condra
Alli Condra is an attorney at Davis Wright Tremaine and concentrates her practice on regulatory issues facing the food, beverage, and restaurant industries. She represents clients in matters with the FDA and the USDA, as well as state- and local-level food and agriculture agencies, specifically as it relates to food safety and food labeling and marketing issues. Prior to joining Davis Wright Tremaine, Alli was a fellow at Harvard Law School’s Food Law and Policy Clinic. She has her J.D. from Drake University and her LL.M. from the University of Arkansas, both with concentrations in food and agricultural law.
Erica Curry, Secretary
Erica’s background includes nearly two decades in program development, food and agriculture education and leading trainings with farmers, teachers and farm to school practitioners. In her role as the Director of Education at FoodCorps, she is helping to shape a new vision for hands-on food and garden-based education for our nation’s youth. Her previous work with Shelburne Farms, The National Farm to School Network and The Farm Based Education Network took her around the country and internationally building networks to connect schools, communities and farms. She loves exploring the western mountains with her family and is an avid gardener. She received the Dorris Duke Conservation Leader Fellowship and has Master’s Degree focused on sustainable food and farm education.
Kristi McFarland, President Emeritus
As Co-President at New Seasons Market, Kristi is in charge of protecting and maintaining culture, ensuring people can grow- and foster their full potential in support of the company’s mission. Kristi brings more than 20 years of human resources experience to New Seasons, building strong company cultures, developing people and helping to create a great customer experience. Before New Seasons, Kristi was leading human resources at Peet’s Coffee and has also held HR positions at The Gap, Williams-Sonoma and Banana Republic. She joined the Zenger Farm seeking an opportunity to combine her passions for education, food and community. In her spare time, Kristi is a seasoned yogini, avid cook and loves all things outdoors- especially when snow is involved. Speaking of snow, Kristi spends her holidays in Vermont with her family, where she indulges in her favorite meal of all time: cinnamon maples sugar pancakes.
Allison O’Sullivan, Treasurer
AlliO is a horticulturist for Portland Parks & Recreation. She is passionate about cultivating culturally appropriate, aesthetically pleasing, and functional landscapes. She is also an ISA Certified Arborist and Qualified Tree Risk Assessor. AlliO brings more than 15 years of experience managing land in ecologically sustainable ways, as well as running outdoor education programs in many natural settings, including the desert, the redwood forest, farms and gardens, wetlands, and the ocean shoreline. In addition to her dedication to stewarding healthy environments and learning from nature, she is focused on promoting equity, inclusivity, and diversity. She loves practicing yoga, cooking from the garden, and adventuring in nature. AlliO earned a Bachelors Degree in Anthropological Sciences from Stanford University and is curious about how humans interact with each other and our environments.
Stephanie Scafa
Stephanie serves as a project manager for the City of Eugene, and is currently the City’s liaison to the World Athletics Championships (Oregon22) event – the largest track and field meet in the world. Stephanie uses this role to connect the community of Eugene with a global, world-class sporting event and aims to find intersections with community groups in how the city can both welcome and inspire the world leading up to that year and beyond. Her background is in a variety of environmental/food systems work, specifically where public policy meets land use as related to the ability to grow and access fresh foods in the region, and then divert or redirect food waste at the end of its life. She is passionate about giving young people the space and place to be outside while providing experiential learning opportunities that ultimately serve as a foundation for teamwork and problem solving later on in life. In her free time, Stephanie loves being outside in nature, growing a garden, hiking with her family and dog, camping, and seeing as much of the world as possible.
